Skin illnesses are curable spiritual diseases (皮肤病)

ABSTRAT

In this segment, we have chosen to focus on illustrating 5 skin diseases: eczema (atopic dermatitis), psoriasis, lichen planus, vitiligo, and chronic urticaria (chronic hives). To begin, let's explore the scientific perspectives on the etiology of these diverse skin conditions.

According to National Institutes of Health (NIH) website:“Researchers do not know what causes atopic dermatitis, but they do know that genes, the immune system, and the environment play a role in the disease [1]”. “Scientists do not fully understand what causes psoriasis, but they know that it involves a mix of genetics and environmental factors [2]”. “Lichen planus is an inflammatory disorder of the skin and mucous membranes with no known cause [3]”. According to Mayo Clinic website: “Vitiligo occurs when pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) die or stop producing melanin — the pigment that gives your skin, hair and eyes color. It's unclear exactly what causes these pigment cells to fail or die.”It may be related to a disorder of the immune system, heredity and/or a trigger event [4]“. “The welts that come with hives are caused by the release of immune system chemicals, such as histamine, into your bloodstream. It's often not known why chronic hives happen or why short-term hives sometimes turn into a long-term problem. Often, the cause of chronic hives isn't clear [5]”.

These statements suggest that scientists currently lack a comprehensive understanding of the underlying causes of skin diseases. As per convention, researchers have resorted to attributing these conditions to genetics and environmental factors, even though uncertainties persist in this area.

From a Buddhist perspective, engaging in the killing of sea or freshwater animals and subsequently consuming them is believed to generate significant killing karma. The eruption of this karma is thought to lead to the occupation of the body by spirits, representing the souls of the dead animals. This, in turn, can give rise to acute medical conditions, including various skin illnesses, each manifesting with a distinct phenotype. In Master Lu's Dharma Eye, a unique spiritual perspective, the imagery of fish, crabs, and shrimp swimming, crawling, and jumping on the patient's body is described, correlating with the manifestation of unbearable clinical conditions.

In this segment, we will present 5 cases [Case S1-S5] as illustrative examples that align with and support Master Lu's teachings.

RESULT OF FIVE TYPES OF SKIN ILLNESSES TREATED BY BUDDHISM

Case S1. Eczema afflicting me for over 40 years was cured by Buddhism [6]

Case S2. My sons psoriasis was cured by practising Buddhism [7]

In 2010, when my son was in the fifth grade, we noticed that he had large pieces of dandruff on his head. At that time, we didn't pay much attention to it. We thought that it might be fine if we used anti-dandruff shampoo to wash it off. However, the dandruff on his head became more and more serious, the skin was also leached with liquid, and the skin was red. Thus, we took him to the dermatology clinic of Beijing Air Force General Hospital. The diagnosis report suggested that he was suffering from psoriasis. The doctor prescribed some topical and internal medication. After using the medicine for a period of time, his skin illness gradually improved. However, as soon as the medication was stopped, his skin disease would come back. So, his skin disease relapsed and could not be cured completely. Later, we took him to see the traditional Chinese medical doctor, and he tried the herbal medicine, but no significant effect took place at all. He also undertook some ancestral secret ointments from the folk doctors, but none of them worked. In a word, he tried everything we could find, but it kept recurring, making us physically and mentally exhausted.

After practising Buddhism, I realized that it was a spiritual disease. I decided to help my son heal by performing the three Golden Buddhist Practices. When I offered incenses to Guan Yin Bodhisattva, I prayed Bodhisattva would help my son to get rid of his stubborn psoriasis. The next morning, I had a dream. My son's forehead, both sides of his ears, and the back of his neck were densely crawling with nail-cap sized, brown, hard-shelled bugs. These bugs looked disgusting and made my scalp tingle. I wanted to remove them by hands, but I feel that they stick to his skin very firmly, almost growing with the skin together. I could vaguely see the fresh flesh in the crevices. After I woke up, I told an elder fellow practitioner about the dream with puzzle. She said, "Isn't that seafood?" Her words woke me up. Master Lu had enlightened us that when one consumes too much seafood, the spirits of those animals will lie on one's body, resulting in karmic diseases. Thus, it must be an outbreak of karma from the child's previous life!

I knelt down in front of the Buddhist altar and made 3 vows to Guan Yin Bodhisattva:

(1) Regarding my son's stubborn psoriasis, help him to recite 49 Little Houses to pay his karmic creditors on the head within 2 months.

(2) Help him release 500 fish within 2 months.

(3) Help him to recite 10,000 times the Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra within 7 months.

After I finished reciting the 49 Little Houses and releasing 500 fish, his psoriasis still had not healed.

I remembered that Master Lu had enlightened that the power of vow is greater than the power of karma, so I made another 5 vows to Guan Yin Bodhisattva:

(1) Help him to recite 21 Little Houses to pay his creditors on the head within 2 months.

(2) Transfer the merits and virtues of assisting a new practitioner setting up Buddhist altar to him.

(3) Transfer the merits and virtues of playing the recorded song of Great Compassion Mantra daily to him.

(4) Help him release 1200 fish before the end of the year.

(5) Use his successful case as an example to convince sentient beings to gain faith on Dharma and practise Buddhism.

When I finished paying his heads creditors 21 Little Houses, a miracle happened. His psoriasis was not so serious anymore, no much skin peeling, although there was just some redness on his scalp.

Therefore, I made another vow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva that:

(1) Help him to recite 21 Little Houses to pay his karmic creditors on the head.

When I finished paying his karmic creditors 21 Little Houses, his head skin was no longer red and stopped peeling. The scalp was clean and became smooth, and the skin color was totally normal. This made both me and my child especially happy. After that, I paid an additional 7 Little Houses for him to enhance the effect.

The Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva does answer all prayers! Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is true! In just three months, I cured my son's psoriasis that had been bothering him for more than 10 years.

What is even more joyful is that although my husband and son have not started practising Buddhism, they are following me to eat vegetarian food every day.

I am so grateful to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva for saving my son from suffering. I am grateful to the selfless and altruistic benefactor Master Lu!

If I hadn't met Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Lu, I wouldn't be who I am today! The only way to repay the kindness of Buddha and Bodhisattva in this life is to practice Buddhism diligently!

Although I have been practising Buddhism for less than a year, there are so many efficacious events have happened to me. I hope that my presentation will help more sentient beings get to understand the workings of karma and have faith in Buddhism.

My deepest gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva!

My deepest gratitude to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas from ten directions and three periods of time!

My deepest gratitude to the Dharma protectors!

My deepest gratitude to the selfless and altruistic Master Jun Hong Lu!

If there is anything that is not rational or in line with the truth in the presentation, Id like to seek forgiveness from the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Dharma protectors, and Master Jun Hong Lu. Id also like to seek forgiveness from my fellow Buddhist practitioners.

I, not my fellow practitioners, will be responsible for my own karma!

Case S3. My sons lichen planus cured by Three Golden Buddhist Practices [8]

I am a fellow Buddhist practitioner of Jing Guan. I encountered Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door in 2013. During the past 10 years of studying Buddhism, there have been so many efficacious cases. Today, to save all sentient beings, I will learn from the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva to spread Dharma. I will convince sentient beings to practice Buddhism using my experiences. May Guan Yin Bodhisattva bless me and help me turn my propagation into merits and virtues. I hope my propagation can form positive connections with all sentient beings, transform the right ones extensively, and awaken more beings. The title is: My son's lichen planus cured by Three Golden Buddhist Practices

"Lichen planus" is an immune system disease whose cause is unknown. It is a difficult problem in medicine, with an incidence rate of only 0.1%. The condition is life-threatening in severe cases and depends on hormonal drugs for life. How could I have imagined this catastrophe would fall on my son?

In 2016, my son was 19 years old and faced his college entrance exam. One day, he said, "Mom, I have a lot of small packets like this on the back of my hands." I thought it was eczema, but then it grew more and more all over his body. I took him to the local Chinese medicine hospital for a checkup. The doctor diagnosed eczema and gave the child a month's prescription for traditional Chinese medicine. However, his condition did not improve even after the medicine was finished. Later, we travelled to see the doctor again and received Chinese medicine for 3 months, but there was no improvement at all. I was anxious. After taking him to a dermatology hospital, I registered him with a specialist in the field. After the doctor looked at him, he invited several doctors for consultation, but they couldn't determine what kind of disease it was. They only said it might be lichen planus. They couldn't cure it. This disease has not yet found its cause in medicine, and there is no good treatment. The doctor suggested I transfer to a larger hospital and asked me to let them know the results afterward.

On the way home, both my son and I had heavy hearts! In the evening, when I was applying medicine to my child, seeing his whole body densely covered with pimples, my heart was like a knife!

The next day, I took him to the local Union Medical College Hospital and registered with a specialist. The doctor said it might be lichen planus, and the test report confirmed that it was lichen planus. The condition was so serious that he had to be hospitalized immediately. The doctor continued: "This disease has not yet found its cause, and there is no cure, often recurs, and can only be controlled by drugs. In serious cases, pimples grow into internal organs. It will be life-threatening at any time !”The doctor's words were like a thunderbolt to me! What can we do?

The time for college entrance exams approached day by day. If my son was hospitalized immediately, he would have to stop school. He discussed with the doctor hospitalization after the exam. The doctor replied: "No, this disease will end your life, and treatment cannot be delayed. How can you study without a life? If you cannot take the exam this year, take it next year." I can only helplessly persuade my child: "Give up the test this year, do it next year." However, I knew in my heart that the chance of redoing the exam is very slim. Considering my family's financial situation, we cannot afford him to reattend classes because of high tuition fees. Moreover, we cannot expect an ideal reexamination. However, I could only coax my child to be hospitalized at that moment.

During the hospitalization, the child was given an intravenous drip from morning to night all day long, but his condition did not improve significantly. The doctor said it was the most desirable outcome if the disease did not worsen! I watched my child being tormented by his illness every day, but there was nothing I could do about it. Life is bitter!

I am very ashamed to confess that I was still so foolish and unenlightened even though I had been a vegetarian for 2 years then! In order to replenish my child's health, I asked my husband to make beef soup! Later, I realized that beef soup induces inflammation. Why did the child's index remain high during the hospitalization? It's because we kept giving beef soup to the child. I thought I was really stupid! Later, my son's condition worsened. The pimples grew all over his mouth, which became white and painful. The pain was unbearable. The illness is in my son's body, but the pain is in his mom's heart!

The doctor had no choice and advised us to see a stomatologist, but there was nothing the stomatologist could do! The doctor said that if the disease continued, it would develop into oral cancer. Despite a month of hospitalization, he was not cured. The doctor prescribed hormone medication for the child. I looked up the consequences of taking hormone medication on the Internet - the child would be dependent on hormone medication for the rest of his life, or else he would be prone to relapse. If this continued on, the child's whole life would be ruined. At this point, I wanted to cry but the tears wouldn't come!

It was not until my child was discharged from the hospital that I thought of praying to Guan Yin Bodhisattva to help me find a good doctor to cure my child. Every day I searched online for a hospital that could cure this disease. Eventually, I found a senior Chinese medicine expert who specializes in treating rare and intractable diseases. Thus, I took my son to Beijing and found this clinic. The expert said that curing this disease was a long-term process. The expert prescribed my son Chinese medicine for a month. I took the list of medicines and saw: 14,000 CNY, which is all my family's entire savings. What about future medication and treatment? However, we could only take one step at a time.

Back home, I kneeled in front of the Buddhist altar and prayed to Guan Yin Bodhisattva with tears in my eyes every day. I made a vow to recite 2,000 Little Houses to my child's karmic creditors. I did not dare vow to the number of fish to be released because I don't have much money. My husband drives a cab and doesn't make much money every day. My salary is only 3,000 CNY. My living budget is very tight. On payday, I took some money to go to the food market to buy a few fish for my child to release. In addition to completing my own daily recitation every day, I also helped my child to recite Buddhist scriptures and recite Little Houses. My child's illness was obviously getting better day by day. When he was discharged from the hospital, there was a patch of lichen planus on his bare foot. After a few Little Houses were repaid, the lichen planus disappeared in a week's time.

Seeing the hope, I was even more confident that I could help my child overcome the disease with the Three Great Dharma Gems! I repaid his karmic creditors by burning the Little House after reciting it every day. I observed lichen planus on my child's body every day. Blessed by the Bodhisattva, it got better day by day. Meanwhile, a month's dose of Chinese medicine was soon finished. There was no money in the family, and the child is very understanding of that fact. Because seeing the doctor would cost >10,000 CNY, he took the hormone drugs previously prescribed by the hospital.

I recited Buddhist scriptures at work and after work. I did not ask my fellow Buddhist practitioners to help me with a single sheet of Little House. I repaid his creditors one sheet after reciting one and two sheets after reciting two. The child's oral lichen planus became softer and less painful, and the large area subsided. The child's mood was relaxed!

Two and a half months later, the child reduced the hormone dose to half a pill. In the fourth month, the hormone pills were stopped. During this time he was basically vegetarian. His mouth was almost healed. The lichen planus on his skin was disappearing. I have been reciting Little Houses to my child with a grateful mind, and I don't dare to stop for a moment. Although I don't have the money to help my child release many lives, I firmly believe that as long as there is sincerity, Guan Yin Bodhisattva will definitely bless and protect us!

Seeing my child's condition gradually stabilize, I told him: We can't give up on the college entrance examination. You do your best to take the examination and review the courses as you should. It doesn't matter how it ends, Mom can accept it." His college entrance examination results came out, and he unexpectedly got into the second tier of school! In view of the child spending most of the year fighting his illness in the senior high school year, it is unbelievable that he got this grade. My deepest gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva! Be grateful, be grateful!

It is the Bodhisattva who gave the child a second life, changed our family's destiny, and gave me a new life! Then I deeply repented and blamed myself. If I had prayed to the Bodhisattva's blessing as soon as my child's illness started and utilized the Three Great Dharma Gems to help him, he would not have suffered so much. I also repented: I am a Buddhist practitioner and have vowed to be vegetarian, but I still fed my child beef while he was hospitalized. I am grateful to the Bodhisattva for Her forgiveness.

Regarding releasing life, I also have a deep understanding. My Master enlightened us that the most important thing to learn about Buddhism is the arousal of intention, and life release is to release compassion. I didn't have much money to release life for my child at that time. I only released a few fish on payday, and my children still got better slowly. The number of fish released is important, but for Buddhists, the more critical thing is the arousal of intention!

Now, my son has graduated from university. The Bodhisattva's blessing allowed him to find an ideal job. Over the past few years, his condition has not recurred. The son is healthy and happy. I am grateful!

My son now also recites Buddhist scriptures. When he encounters difficulties at work, he resolves them by reciting Buddhist scriptures. The Master and Bodhisattvas have blessed him in his dreams many times. Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is true! Think of the many people who have this disease, who have not encountered the Dharma. They are still taking hormones every day, who have been inflicted by hormones, and who live a life of pain and suffering. How lucky are we? In this life, we can meet the Master and the Dharma, and receive the Bodhisattvas' blessings and protection! We are immensely grateful to the great Dharma and the outstanding and efficacious Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door!

Grateful to our Greatly Compassionate Benefactor Father Master Lu, who spreads such wonderful Dharma to the world. This is so that we can have a good life, a harmonious family, a successful study, and change our destiny through the Three Great Dharma Gems. Master Lu enlightened us that a disease doctors cannot cure is a disease of karma! In fact, my son's illness is also related to killing karma. In the past, his grandmother created a lot of killing karma in the countryside; my husband loved fishing; and I always loved eating fish. When I was pregnant I ate fish every day. Additionally, I had an abortion. When my son was young, he raised silkworms for fun. As a result, it is my son who was retributed for all of this karma! I repent to the Bodhisattva for the ignorant karmic obstacles I created.

I really can't imagine if I hadn't encountered Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, how my life would have been. It must have been in the dark. My child cannot live a healthy and happy life as it is now. I am grateful to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva! Grateful to the Master! Grateful for Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, which freed our family!

Through studying the Dharma in Plain Terms, I have learned more about life and been relieved of worries. Family members are all our conditioning power for practicing Buddhism. Without my child's illness, how could I have made the effort to study the Buddha's teachings? How could I apply the Three Great Dharma Gems to solve life's problems? I am grateful for the trials and tribulations life has given me, making me stronger and grateful!

I have already made vows: to be a vegetarian for life, to observe the five precepts, to perform the ten good deeds, to release living beings for life, to devote myself to one Buddhist practice and never quit, to be one of the hands and eyes of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, to form positive connections with all beings, to extensively transform sentient beings, to save and help more sentient beings in the rest of my life, attain enlightenment in one lifetime and to repay the benevolence of the Buddha!

Today, I am writing this belated sharing presentation with a grateful heart because I want to use my personal experience to tell those children and families who are still suffering from illnesses: Buddhism is real and can change our lives. The Three Great Dharma Gems can really change our destiny! This is the end of my sharing.

Gratitude to Namo Sakyamuni Buddha!

Gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva!

Gratitude to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas from ten directions and three periods of time!

Gratitude to the Dharma protectors!

Gratitude to the selfless and altruistic Master Jun Hong Lu!

If there is anything that is not rational or in line with the truth in the presentation, I'd like to seek forgiveness from Namo Sakyamuni Buddha, the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Dharma protectors, and Master Jun Hong Lu.

I, not my fellow practitioners, will be responsible for my own karma!

Case S4. Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door cured my vitiligo [9]

I am Huaping Zhu. I've practiced Buddhism for 3 years. I would like to pray to Guan Yin Bodhisattva to witness that I will share my experiences and insights derived from practicing Buddhism. I hope that my presentation will benefit more Buddhist practitioners who can learn a lesson from my experiences so that they can practice more diligently and save sentient beings.

If Guan Yin Bodhisattva hadn't saved me, if I hadn't met Master Lu, I don't know where my life would have gone. However, for sure it would have been darkness. I now cry speechless tears every time I look at the portrait of Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Guan Yin Bodhisattva, I Huaping Zhu don't know in which life I have cultivated the good fortune to make a connection with you, and to be able to make a connection with Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. I'm grateful and grateful.

In the summer of 2015, the darkest year of my life, I was diagnosed with vitiligo. Initially, my friend inadvertently saw that my mouth corners were whitish and different from normal skin. My friend advised me to go to the hospital for a checkup. At first, I thought it was a cold food lump and didn't take it seriously. Later, I looked in the mirror for a long time. I felt something was wrong, so I headed to Hangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital to check. I was diagnosed with vitiligo, which is very difficult to treat. I was blinded. How could it be? No one in our family has had this disease. How could I get it? I searched the internet like crazy. The more I looked, the more anxious I felt. It is commonly known as immortal cancer. It spreads to the whole face or even the whole body. I was afraid of becoming like that. I was helpless and scared. I broke down.

I quit my job. I was afraid my face would scare my colleagues. I didn't know what to do. I lived in panic every day. It feels like a leaking house facing a rainy night. One trouble follows another. My left arm is unknowingly sore. I can't lift it up. It is even more painful behind my back. Especially at night, I could not sleep at all. Each nerve in my arm is like a needle prick, which makes me difficult to sleep. I was 39 years old. Why did misfortune suddenly strike me? What did I do wrong? I travelled to a hospital in Ningbo and had an MRI. The report showed that it was scapular effusion, and there was no good treatment other than exercise.

Just when I was lost, I encountered the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. I am grateful to Bodhisattva. I think now, I may be quite honest and still have a little kindness in my heart. Bodhisattva took pity on me and let me meet Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. When I walked to the park to exercise, I ran into Buddhist practitioners who were also exercising. They practiced Tai Chi. I thought it might be healthy and helpful for my body, so I followed them. The first thing they talked about every day was their daily recitations. I felt curious. Buddhist practitioner Hong was in the seventies. I was wondering what kind of recitation Hong was doing at such an old age. Hence, I asked them what their recitations were. This question led me to join Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. They said Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door could save me from my illness. How unfortunate and fortunate I was. I immediately expressed a strong interest in practicing it. When I got a book Hong offered me, and carefully opened it, I was deeply impressed by the pictures of Master Lu inside. It is because Master Lu created a different path for my future life.

I held Buddhist scriptures in both hands, looking at the corresponding effects of each scripture. It turned out that each Buddhist scripture was a medicine prescription. When I recited the Heart Sutra and the Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance, I howled and cried. I realized how much bad karma I had created. I thought I was a good person, but now I realize that I was not even qualified to be a human being at that time. I killed, I aborted, I committed sexual misconduct, I was delusional, I had everything. That's why I got vitiligo and a frozen shoulder. It's all my self-made causes. I deeply repent here. I am sorry, please forgive me for my ignorance.

After a week of daily recitations, I proceeded to make a vow for a set of 49 Little Houses to repay my miscarried child. Later on, I repaid another set of Little Houses to my own karmic creditors. After about 100 Little Houses were repaid, my frozen shoulder was significantly better. What is even more amazing is that vitiligo is turning around as well.

In January 2016 I set up a Buddhist altar at my home. On that day, I made a vow to become a vegetarian, and never kill living beings.

As the saying says, if you study Buddhism for one year, the Buddha is in front of you. If you study Buddhism for three years, the Buddha is in the sky. In the first year, I was quite diligent every day in order to get better quickly, and I was a different person than I used to be.

Physically, I used to have pain here and there. Especially with my back and frozen shoulder, I had to go to acupuncture every week. Now I haven't undergone massage and acupuncture, and my frozen shoulder has basically recovered, and my back hasn't recurred.

In terms of mindset, I used to blame everybody but myself, have low self-confidence and constant afflictions. I would be sad for days about a trivial thing. Now that I have studied Buddhism, I realize that everything is cause and effect. It's all my fault.

Behaviorally, I used to be fond of eating and averse to work. Now that I have learned the Buddhism. I take the initiative to do things, and I can help others.

However, with time, because I did not practice Buddhism diligently, my inherent flaws flared up and I lost my temper. This led to me that I could only recite 3 Little Houses a day. In the summer of 2017, vitiligo returned. Unlike the first time, this time the disease spread to the eyes, eyebrows, and neck. My heart, which had been clearer, turned confused again. I can't find the direction. I also often get pedantic in my Buddhism study and often wonder if there is something wrong with the Dharma. Especially since I have been studying the Dharma for two years, why doesn't the Bodhisattva bless me?

My situation continued to fluctuate until I attended the Indonesian Buddhist Conference. Fortunately, Bodhisattva helped me again, allowing me to attend the Buddhist Conference and become a disciple of Master Lu. At the ceremony, I couldn't even make a sound when I was stuck in my throat by the spirit. I could only keep shedding tears. Master Lu was leading the reading of the Disciple's Code in front of me, but I couldn't read it properly, letting the tears spill out like crazy. My karmic obstacles are so deep. I didn't make any effort to eliminate my karma, and now I let Master Lu carry my karma. I am sorry for the Bodhisattva and to Master Lu! Many people at the ceremony saw a remarkable sight, but I didn't. I'm really not cultivating well!

During the Buddhist Conference, I received guidance from a Buddhist practitioner, Mr. Wang. He said I had not progressed in my cultivation. He pointed out my shortcomings and reminded me of precautions to take in my future cultivation. I am really grateful to him, who was really sent by the Bodhisattva to enlighten me. After I returned from the Buddhist Conference, I felt completely new and rekindled my motivation to study Buddhism. I adjusted my goals, mainly eliminating karma first, and made a vow to recite 500 Little Houses to my karmic creditors during the year. I made a vow to recite the Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance according to the Ten Meritorious Deeds standard to repent of wrongdoings and refrain from doing them in this life.

Now, the vitiligo on my face is largely invisible. Around my eyes, I noticed melanin covering my once-white skin slightly. I know it was the Bodhisattva who saved me again. I am grateful to the Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, and to Master Lu for silently blessing me. I make a vow that I will follow Master Lu to practice well, let go of the 'lesser self' and attain the 'greater self', and be a good helper of Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Lu, promote Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and save sentient beings.

Throughout my experience of learning Buddhism, I summarize the detours I have taken on my way to learning Buddhism:

1. Insincerity of the heart. I know very well that practicing Buddhism is cultivating one's heart. If one does not have true faith in the Dharma and Guan Yin Bodhisattva, it is useless. Only if you give your heart wholeheartedly to Guan Yin Bodhisattva will you be saved!

2. My will is not firm. My will is not strong enough, that is to say, it is not refined enough. Why is it not refined? To put it bluntly, the power of a vow is not sufficient. I prayed with a purpose before. So once my target was achieved, I slacked off.

3. Shortcomings were not overcome. When I want to lose my temper, I still lose my temper. When I feel afflicted, I still feel afflicted. Here I think of a way to turn my mind. It is also what Master Lu always talks about, turning afflictions into bodhi. In our lives, we must change practically, and only when we change can we progress.

4. Lack of action. This action is related to vow power. Usually in Buddha's study and worship, I made empty vows, and I did not go to do it. Slowly the heart is numb. By the time karmic obstacles flare up, it's too late to regret.

Dear Buddhist practitioners, the above is my experience of learning Buddhism and my understanding. If there is anything that is not rational or in line with the truth in the presentation, I pray for forgiveness from Namo Sakyamuni Buddha, the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Dharma protectors, and Master Jun Hong Lu. I'd also like to seek forgiveness from my fellow Buddhist practitioners.

Case S5. Stubborn urticaria recovered via Three Great Dharma Gems [10]

Hello, I am fellow practitioner Wang. The content of my presentation is: My father's stubborn skin disease was recovered via the Three Great Dharma Gems, and Guan Yin Bodhisattva answered all prayers

My father had always been healthy except for his blood pressure, which was a bit high. However, 10 years ago, he suffered from a serious skin disease.

In the summer of 2012, his old friend kindly invited him to visit their home. They reside in the Haimen district of Nantong City, China. Because of its seaside location, there are many local seafood restaurants. My father ate a lot of live seafood. The the summer of 2013, my father was invited by this friend again, and of course ate a lot of live seafood again. My father was 79 that year, coinciding with the predestined 369 calamity.

A few months after returning from Haimen, my father suddenly suffered itchy all over his body and got a lot of red rashes. In the summer, he could not wear short sleeves nor take sunshine. This is because once his skin was exposed to the sun, it itched like crazy! He consulted to our local dermatology hospital, but no cause was found. So, he was treated for an allergy. He took Western medicine prescribed by the doctor, but nothing worked. Later, he was referred by a friend to a specialist in Nanjing. He was still treated for an allergy, but this time he took Chinese medicine instead. He traveled back and forth to Nanjing several times, but his condition did not improve!

He had to apply an ointment to his whole body every day. Because the ointment contained hormones, and after applying it, his skin became very thin and thin. One time, when he finished his IV, the nurse pulled out the needle and removed the tape. The nurse tore off his skin in a piece. The nurse was horrified! His skin became both thin and brittle, and as soon as it hit on a hard object, the skin split open and bled. Those who have not experienced it can never appreciate the pain and horror! It's really terrible!

There were times when his body bled, but he didn't even know. I remember one time he rode on a bus. His skin suddenly bled and stained his shirt red, and he didn't even know it! When the people next to him saw this, they panicked and avoided it. Later, his skin became so fragile that he broke the skin and bled at the slightest bump. The skins that did not break showed purple spots.

During the two years of illness, he sought medical help, but his condition got worse and worse! Later, a friend referred him to a clinical specialist in Shanghai, who was a professor. He was confirmed to be suffering from urticaria. The doctor gave him Western medicine and said, "This is a blood disease, it can't be cured, it's good to have it under control." At the same time, the doctor instructed him not to eat spicy and irritating foods anymore. After he returned from Shanghai, he felt the effect was really favourable. He took two courses of medicine and felt much more comfortable in his skin. However, it was still fragile and would break when he bumped a hard object.

In April 2017, I was fortunate to encounter the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and started to study Buddhism. I learned about karmic consequences and knew that my father's skin disease was a karmic disease. I also knew that eating live seafood caused the karmic outbreak! By practicing the three golden Buddhist practices of making vows, reciting Buddhist scriptures, and performing life liberation, his skin disease could be cured. So, I decided to use Buddhism to treat his stubborn skin disease!

A senior Dharma practitioner reminded me, "You can't help your father recite the sutras to pay off his debt now. You have just started studying Buddhism. You have to eliminate your own karma to pay off your own debt first. When you have the ability, you can save your father. Right now you don't have the energy to bear his karma. Otherwise, you will be paralyzed."

I thought of: Before learning Buddhism, my favorite food was fried small carp. My father bought, killed and fried it for me. He was being retributed, and there was my sin in it! Although my will was there, the strength was not! So, I could only help my father release the lives first. When I released the lives, I thought of my father still suffering from the skin disease, and I was brought to tears in my heart.…..

After learning Buddhism, I showed my father the video of Master Lus totem readings related to skin diseases. I hoped he would know the cause and understand the effect. I also told him, "People with skin diseases must become vegetarians and stop eating sentient beings' meat! Urticaria is a blood disease, and it is also a karmic disease. If you don't become a vegetarian, it will only get worse." Perhaps, at that time, his karma was too heavy and his Buddhist destiny had not yet arrived. So, he didn't listen to me and had no appetite without meat.

After a year of practicing Buddhism, my health was improving and my work was getting better and better. I felt that my karmic obstacles had been eliminated a lot and my energy had increased.

In the summer of 2018, I started reciting Little Houses for my parents to eliminate their karma and pay off their karmic debts. I repaid 3 Little Houses for each of my parents’ karmic creditors and 7 Little Houses for my own creditors each week.

From June 2019 to the end of 2020, I repaid 7 Little Houses for each of my parents creditors and 7 Little Houses for my own creditors every week. At that time, I was only thinking about saving my father and didn't think too much about it. If they dreamed of the deceased, I would also recite the Little Houses to help them ascend the deceased.

One day, his hand bumped a hard object. He looked at it out of habit, and the skin was neither broken nor bleeding. I took the opportunity to preach him, "That's the effect of paying creditors with Little Houses! Your skin disease will surely heal gradually." He was happy to hear that. His skin disease was effectively controlled as I helped him recite the Little Houses.

At the end of 2019, three months before his 84th birthday, his mighty predestined calamity broke out! His whole body was swollen and covered with red beans-sized rashes. His legs were so swollen that he couldn't walk, and he said they were as if filled with lead! I took him to my home to take care of him and took the opportunity to preach him sternly, "Your skin disease is so serious, it's all because of killing karma. The only way to cure your hives is to practice Buddhism and be a vegetarian. Otherwise you will get blood cancer." When my father heard that he was going to get cancer, he was so scared that he promised me not to eat meat anymore.

After I convinced him, in November 2019, my father made a vow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva in front of the Buddhist altar in my house: to practice Buddhism, recite Buddhist scriptures, and be a vegetarian. I told him at that time, "Since you have made a vow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva to be a vegetarian, you cannot eat meat from now on. If you break against your vow, the Dharma Protectors will punish you." He was full of promises at that moment. That day, I was very happy and felt my father had been saved! Since then, he has taken refuge in Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and started to practice Buddhism and recite Buddhist scriptures as well as Little Houses.

On January 1, 2020, I made 2 vows to Guan Yin Bodhisattva specifically for my father's skin karma:

(1) Help my father's creditors with 250 Little Houses within one year;

(2) Transfer 30% of my merits and virtues from attending the Singapore Dharma Conference to my father.

I pray that Guan Yin Bodhisattva will cure my father's skin disease soon.

January 15, 2020 is my father's 84th birthday. I listened to Master Lu's recorded enlightenment that 84 years old is a big predestined calamity and needs many Little Houses to pass. One morning, I heard Master Lu's enlightenment saying: When you meet a big predestined calamity, release 108 turtles and 1200 fish. So, I made another vow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva:

(1) Help my father's karmic creditors with 350 Little Houses within one year;

(2) Release 108 turtles and 1200 fish for my father within one year;

(3) Transfer 10% of the merit and virtues of my awakening others and 10% of the merit and virtues of Dharma propagation to my father.

I prayed to Guan Yin Bodhisattva to bless my father to pass the calamity safely.

Perhaps due to his heavy karma, around April 2020, he broke his vow and secretly ate meat ravioli outside with his old friend! The consequences of breaking a vow were severe and swift. On May 16, he suddenly couldn't eat or drink, his back hurt so much that he couldn’t stand up, walk, and his skin disease returned!

He was admitted to the hospital. The doctor examined his whole body, but could not find any disease. He stayed in the hospital for two months, eating and throwing up. His weight dropped from 70 to 30 kilograms, and he was so thin that only skin and bones were left, which was horrible! But with the Bodhisattva’s blessing, he was still in good spirits.

Master Lu has enlightened: the disease that cannot be found the cause is a spiritual (or karmic) disease. So, I helped him release 108 turtles again and tried my best to recite Little Houses to eliminate his karma and pay off his debts. I told him, "What you are eating and vomiting is the result of eating meat against your vow. This is the punishment the Dharma protectors have imposed! You have to sincerely repent to Guan Yin Bodhisattva." He himself felt ashamed and repented to the Bodhisattva.

In August 2020, when the 600 Little Houses (250 in Jan.1 + 350 in Jan.15) I had vowed for him were almost finished, he suddenly got better - he could eat and drink, and he gained weight. Shortly thereafter, he made a vow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva to stop eating eggs.

His skin disease that had cost tens of thousands of CNY but had not been cured was suddenly cured. Buddhas powers are unlimited and true! He half-heartedly believed in Buddhism in the past, but after this big calamity, he began to believe in Buddhism, Guan Yin Bodhisattva is around us, and Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is highly efficacious!

The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are great kings of doctors! From 2020 to now, his skin disease has never recurred. He can also walk in the sun wearing a short shirt in summer, which is blissful! Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is so wonderful, and the three Dharma Gems of making vows, reciting Buddhist scriptures, and releasing lives are really effective!

He is very diligent in studying Buddhism and reciting Buddhist scriptures now. He seizes any moment every day reciting Buddhist scriptures and Little Houses to eliminate karma and pay off debts. Every time I visited my parents, I saw him reciting Buddhist scriptures with a counter in his hand. In the past, he always asked me to stay longer and talk to him for a while. Now, after I only stayed for a while, he drove me home, saying he was going to recite sutras.

Gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Although my father is 87 years old in 2023, he can buy vegetables, cook, and take care of my mother. He can recite 5 Little Houses in 2 days, which is blissful! In the past, he liked to walk when he had nothing to do. However, now he doesn't even go out except for grocery shopping. He said: Going out for a walk also delays reciting. Now, his skin is close to normal. I am really happy for him! I am grateful to Buddhism for saving me and my father! Really very grateful!

Once, I met the doctor who treated my father in the hospital. He asked about my father's condition, and I told him: My fathers physical health has fully recovered, his skin disease has healed, and he has gained weight. The doctor couldn't believe it, because he thought my father might have cancer! I told the doctor it is Buddhism cured my father's illness. Afterwards, I offered the doctor the Dharma books, hoping to let him understand that spiritual (or karmic) diseases can only be cured by Dharma. I also hope he can use Dharma to help more patients.

I am grateful to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva for responding to every prayer. I am grateful to Master Lu for bringing Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door to the world to save suffering beings. I am grateful to the three highly effective Dharma Gems!

The above is my personal experience. I hope that after seeing or hearing this presentation, more sentient beings can learn Buddhism and recite Buddhist scriptures as soon as possible, abstain from killing and perform life liberation, self-awaken and awaken others, escape suffering and attain happiness!

My deepest gratitude to Namo Sakyamuni Buddha!

DISCUSSION

The successful treatment of eczema [Case S1], psoriasis [Case S2], lichen planus [Case S3], vitiligo [Case S4], and chronic urticaria [Case S5] serves as compelling evidence supporting the validity of Master Lu's teachings and the authenticity of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. These cases illustrate practical applications that align with the principles espoused by Master Lu.

In my observation of various spiritual diseases, I have found that treating skin diseases with Buddhism appears to be relatively effective. For instance, when patient N1's wife completed reciting 49 Little Houses for his karmic creditors, his eczema was healed [11]. A notable example is my wife curing my daughter's eczema, who lives 800 miles away, in just 6 weeks. However, in a past life she operated a seafood business and accumulated heavy karmic obstacles, it's a different matter [Case S1]. It seems that the spirits of water animals, being small creatures, have relatively straightforward souls. Unlike the spirits of larger animals or humans with complex and revengeful minds that are challenging to ascend, the spirits of small animals are comparatively naive. Given the opportunity to ascend to a higher level, such as being reincarnated into a larger animal in the next life, they are often willing to leave. Upon their departure, the skin illnesses of patients tend to heal naturally.

The belief that killing and eating fish carries no consequences is misguided. In the following story from Buddha's times, the severity of retribution for such actions is underscored. While killing humans is universally considered a grave sin, the narrative serves as a reminder that all sentient beings, regardless of their size or form, are interconnected, and actions may have consequences beyond immediate perception.

The massacre of the Sakya clansmen [12]

Before the advent of Sakyamuni Buddha, there was near Kapila town a village inhabited by fishermen, and in it was a big pond. It happened that because of a great drought, the pond ran dry and all the fish were caught and eaten by the villagers. The last fish taken was a big one and before it was killed, a boy who never ate fish played with it and thrice knocked its head.

Later, after Sakyamuni Buddha's appearance in this world, King Prasenajit who believed in the Buddha-dharma, married a Sakya girl who then gave birth to a prince called Crystal. When he was young, Crystal had his schooling in Kapila which was then inhabited by the Sakya clansmen. One day while playing, the boy ascended to the Buddha's seat and was reprimanded by others who dragged him down. The boy cherished a grudge against the men and when he became king, he led his soldiers to attack Kapila, killing all its inhabitants.

At the same time, the Buddha suffered from a headache that lasted three days. When His disciples asked Him to rescue the poor inhabitants, the Buddha replied that a fixed Karma could not be changed. By means of his miraculous powers, Maudgalyayana rescued 500 Sakya clansmen and thought he could give them refuge in his own bowl which was raised up in the air. When the bowl was brought down, all the men had turned into blood.

When asked by His chief disciples, the Buddha related the story of the villagers who in days gone by had killed all the fish in their pond; King Crystal had been the big fish and his soldiers the other fish in the pond; the inhabitants of Kapila who were now killed had been those who ate the fish; and the Buddha Himself had been the boy who thrice knocked on the head of the big fish. Karma was now causing Him to suffer from a headache for three days in retribution for His previous act. Since there could be no escape from the effects of a fixed Karma, the 500 Sakya clansmen, although rescued by Maudgalyayana, shared the same fate. Later, King Crystal was reborn in hell.

Buddha's teachings uphold absolute truth, revealing that without an understanding of Buddhism, one may not fathom the potential for a fish to undergo a karmic transformation and be reborn as a human. While a doctor may perceive eating meat as a source of nutrition, from a Buddhist perspective, each bite is viewed as karmic consequences. The notion that such a being might seek revenge for past harm, even after many years, is a profound lesson in the intricate workings of karma.

Resentment is like a sea of hatred and is very difficult to calm. The sounds of animals crying from the slaughterhouse door in the stillness of the night are pointedly offered as an explanation for the root cause of war calamities. With this in-depth understanding, it becomes clear why the world is rife with conflict and numerous enigmatic diseases for which cures remain elusive.

Engaging in the killing and consumption of animals, particularly water animals, leading to skin diseases may be perceived as less severe than the earlier story, as the quicker retribution comes, the sooner the debt is settled. However, what makes this scenario distressing is that sentient beings afflicted with skin diseases often fail to awaken to the consequences, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

The crucial point emphasized here is the significant variation in the time elapsed between cause and effect in different cases. In the case of killing humans, immediate consequences such as arrest prevent widespread murder. Similarly, slaughtering fish may result in skin illnesses promptly, dissuading many from becoming butchers. The challenge lies in the difficulty for sentient beings and scientists to establish a direct connection between acts of killing and subsequent suffering due to the variable lengths of time for retribution. Hence, the call for everyone to embrace Buddhism as a means to comprehend these intricate connections is a holy task that a Buddhist undertakes.

Harming other animals can lead to skin problems, as seen in the case of a biotechnology staff I know who developed vitiligo on her hands after killing experimental mice. Additionally, various other wrongdoings have been linked to the manifestation of skin diseases. For instance, the burning of a man's skin in the past life of patient L12 has led to her enduring psoriasis in this current lifetime [13]. A grandfather, who is a doctor involved in assisting abortions, generated significant killing karma. This karma manifested as vitiligo in his grandson [14]. These examples highlight the intricate and far-reaching consequences of actions on one's health and well-being.

The ripple effect of suffering extends beyond the immediate victim, affecting animals, their families, and compassionate individuals. While compassion is commendable, understanding the underlying mechanisms is crucial. Harming others, whether humans or animals, eventually brings harm to oneself. Embracing this understanding, society and ecology where everyone fears the consequences of karma can aspire to be peaceful and harmonious.

If the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is employed by doctors to treat patients with intractable diseases, the approach involves a combination of medical guidance and Buddhist practices. Dr. Xi, an obstetrician-gynecologist and Buddhist practitioner, adopts a unique approach to her practice. After conveying the challenging medical realities of incurable diseases through conventional medicine, she introduces Buddhism as an alternative. Under her guidance, several intractable diseases, including psoriasis, have witnessed successful outcomes through the integration of Buddhist practices [15]. This dual approach addresses both the physical and spiritual dimensions for a more comprehensive treatment strategy.

Promoting and maintaining good skin health can be achieved through a straightforward approach: abstaining from acts of killing and contemplating the adoption of a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. This ethical choice not only contributes to the well-being of animals but also has positive effects on our own skin health. Moreover, such practices during pregnancy can also contribute to the skin health of the next generation for pregnant mothers [16, 17].

Buddhism can cure stubborn skin diseases, confirming its correctness both in theory and practice. It emphasizes faith in Buddhism, suggesting that it not only provides a theoretical foundation but also yields positive results in practical application.

CONCLUSION

Skin disease is a spiritual ailment, incurable medically. It can be cured by practicing the Five Golden Buddhist Practices of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.
